Review of Padmaavat . . .

Review of Padmaavat . .

Brave film makers, Bravest film makers and then comes #SanjayLeelaBhanshali
Not only filmy people but general audience of our nation and also overseas aware about the film #Padmaavat due to it's controversies. I believe whatever happened was really not good for the country. An honest film maker wants to show something and he doesn't get support from the people, government or media. It's sad truth. Well after so many problems fortunately they managed to release it across the India except few states. It didn't get screens in my state Gujarat. I didn't get chance to watch it when released. It was sad thing for me when i heard the reviews of the film from media and i was not able to catch it. I'm biggest fan of #SanjayLeelaBhanshali and loved most of his films. This was biggest excitement for me and for all who loved his previous films. Finally they released it on web and i watched it. It entered in 200cr club already. I'm happy for them as they eventually won the battle at some point but still it disappointed me when film makers have no freedom of speech or can't show whatever they want to & not to hurt any sentiments but to acknowledge public with the subject. Lack of freedom can demotivate the film makers to present the reality. Well let it go now.
#Padmaavat based on the poem written by the same name. Last film of #SanjayLeelaBhanshali was also a biopic of Maratha warrior and his love story #BajiraoMastaani they won my heart. I loved #GoliyonKiRaasLeelaRaamLeela too. #Padmaavat is his third film with #RanveerSingh
Less I'm going to write about the film or it's controversies and more i will talk about #SultanAllaudiKhilji marvellously played by #RanveerSingh
Many people are aware about the story of Queen Padmavati played by #DeepikaPadukone who is getting married to king of Mewarh #ShahidKapoor & here #SultanAllaudiKhilji is the villain. I witnessed several films where villain has more potentiality than protagonist. Character of #Khilji written brilliantly. His screen presence is what makes the film worth watch. From his entry scenes when he hugs and kills, when he dances, when he looks angrily, when he speaks dialogues, when he is starving for lust, his actions etc makes the perfect villain for this kind of story. I can't imagine any other actor playing the role of #Khilji
#RanveerSingh is an appropriate choice for this role. His pairing with the director is great. Director could bring out the best out of him all the time. Only this character takes the film to the next level. Rest things are average. Undoubtedly Cinematography and Costume Designing marvellous but what film needs to get a label of satisfactory success is quality of the script and presentation. Direction is top notch but somehow for me #ShahidKapoor & #DeepikaPadukone were not up to the mark. I loved #DeepikaPadukone in #GoliyonKiRaasLeelaRaamLeela then also liked her in #BajiraoMastaani but here she has a quite weak role according to me. She isn't bad at all but still it could have been way better. She has less dialogues comparatively other two leads. #ShahidKapoor contributed a lot to the role but still i found it satisfactory performance not the great one. I think #RanveerSingh ate the other performers totally. Music is beautiful. Loved Ghoomar track & Binte Dil is awesome.
Except the leads one more character i emerged and proved himself fit in the role. That is #JimSarbh OMG what an awesome performance he gave as Malik Kafur. His dialogue speaking style, his acting, his relations with #Khijli best part of the film. Mind Blowing actor.
#AditiRaoHydari plays the role of begum of #Khilji she is outstanding in her part. I loved her screen presence. She looks beautiful.
So on the whole whatever i loved about the film is #RanveerSingh as #SultanAllaudiKhilji
If he was not there then this couldn't have been this much better watch for me. His contribution to the Indian cinema is BIG by doing this role. This kind of dedications prove that film making is not only a business game but also a product of sweat and honesty. #SultanAllaudiKhilji is his best performance till date. Take a bow Sir you nailed it completely.
What #Joker was to #TheDarkKnight #SultanAllaudiKhilji is to #Padmaavat ♡
For #RanveerSingh
3.8/5.

Review of Raid . . .

Review of Raid . . .

Raj Kumar Gupta is expert in making suspense and thriller films. I loved his previous works such as #Aamir and #NoOneKilledJessica
Raid is based on true story happened in the mid 80s in Income Tax Department at the city of Lucknow. It falls in the genre of #Special26 like suspense and also it has thrills included. Gripping storyline with perfect timing. Never bored me for a minute. Sometimes it's headache when a simple screenplay stretched by the writers but here film is having length of only 128mins therefore i could bear the unnecessary romantic sequences between the IT officer and his wife.
Dialogues written very well written by Ritesh Shah who impressed me with his writing work in #Pink
Conversations between IT officer Abhay Patnayak (Ajay Devgn) & Tauji (Saurabh Shukla) is mind blowing and makes movie worth watch.
Performances by protagonist and antagonist takes movie to the superior level. It's always great treat to watch Ajay Devgn in an honest cop or common man role whether it was #Yuva or #Apaharan or #Singham i loved him in many of his movies. He once stated that he is lazy actor sometimes he doesn't even do much but i believe that his simplicity in the role is what makes me his big fan. &  i have been always big fan of Saurabh Shukla since the character Kallu Mama he played in #Satya His dialogue speaking and physical appearance always shines in negative roles or comedy roles. His comic timing is perfect. Here Patnayak VS Tauji game is worth watch only because of these two talented actors. Nowadays Akshay Kumar is also doing several hard hitting roles like Ajay Devgn. It was keep reminding me of #Special16 and #JollyLLB2 kinda films.
Music by Amit Trivedi is nice and two tracks by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan lovely.
Several scenes like Ajay's first time entry in office and induction with the staff, His entry in the house of Tauji, his interrogation on phones with other officials, and of course climax.
Ileana D'Cruz is also decent in the role of wife of an honest IT officer.
Over all it was really good gripping thriller drama made by the director.
Specially for the performances.
3.5/5.
