Review of Raazi . . .

Review of Raazi . . .

Yes I'm biggest fan of thriller films. Specially spy thrillers which are set beyond the boundaries. This time there's a female spy Sehmat Khan (Alia Bhatt) getting married in Pakistan to work as a spy for India. Of course it reminded me of Preity Zinta from The Hero Love Story Of A Spy. Not much similarities but theme is same.
Director Meghna Gulzar who made Talvar once again made one more thriller based on the book "Calling Sehmat". I loved the Talvar and after watching trailer of Raazi i was damn excited for it. One reason was the director and another was Alia Bhatt.
Nowadays among new actresses who debuted in last 5-7 years Alia Bhatt is the most versatile actress for me. She is doing extremely good in her career. She appears in commercial films like Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya as well as along with that she contributes into the off beat cinema such as Highway. I didn't like her debut film Student Of The Year but then onwards i liked her in  most of her films. She is powerhouse of talent and beauty. Undoubtedly she has got mad fan following and of course I'm also one of them. I admire her work as well as her look as she looks sweet doll.
In Raazi as Sehmat Khan she steals the show. More i loved her performance than the film. She is an appropriate choice for this role. She completely justifies. Couldn't take my eyes away from the screen when she was present. Her training scenes with Jaideep Ahlawat, her innocent eyes, her fake smiles, her thrills etc worked as fuel for the film.
Direction is tight. Not much nail biting screenplay but still it was engaging because of lead and other actors' performances. Music is quite good.
Another thing what i loved about the film so far is Cinematography. Beautifully captured Ravalpindi of Pakistan. Just an amazing work done by director of photography.
On the whole it's not great but worth watch for Alia Bhatt fans. It was pleasure to see her doing this kind of films and achieving a lot appreciation. Take a bow. I want you to beg an award for this one.
Keep giving your best.

Review ofAjji . . .

Review of Ajji . . .

#Ugly by Anurag Kashyap, #Laxmi by Nagesh Kukunoor and now this one #Ajji by Devashish Makhija No fainted heart people can watch these films. Darkness to an extreme level. Story of 10 years old girl abused and raped by the son of politician and then her granny  (Ajji) takes revenge on the rapist. It's not that typical revenge saga it's bold and disturbing.
Loved the presentation of bold topic which is perfectly relevant to the current situation of our nation.
It doesn't show any court room drama or legalities only FIR procedure by one corrupt officer. It's a personal revenge and not any kind of seeking justice from the system. Granny of a victim decides to take revenge and plans and executes the punishment which i have never seen before.
It's totally nail biting screenplay. Sharp editing and direction at it's best. From the beginning to the end each scene was mind blowing and i was super excited throughout the film. Not a single moment which bored me. Many of the scenes are brilliantly executed such as in the beginning police officer notes down the case, rapist along with his friend enjoying sex with the statue, Political father of the rapist hits him, Ajji learns the skills of mutton chopping from a butcher which is extraordinary part, she buys mutton from the butcher and feeds the street dogs this scene proves the talent of story teller and of course climax was kickass.
Loved almost everything about the film. There wasn't anything which bored me or ruined the film. According to the bold concept all the things executed and edited perfectly alright.
If i talk about the performances then who steals the show is lead Ajji herself played by Sushma Deshpande. OUTSTANDING. Take a bow ma'am for delivering such an EXTRAORDINARY performance. Hatz off.
Other casting is also very good. The cop, rapist, butcher, prostitute etc played their parts so well.
Indian cinema really needs this kind of films and these kind of films really needs more and more audiences not because of it's boldness but it addresses the fact of our inhuman society. Specially whatever is happening currently in our nation. Well don't want to say much about the problems of nation but i must say this is a brave attempt for Indian cinema.
Director Devashish Makhija and team take a bow.
4.5/5.

Review of 102 Not Out . . .

Review of 102 Not Out . . .

Oh My God fame director came back with one more film inspired from Gujarati play. #102NotOut starring #AmitabhBachchan Sir & #RishiKapoor Ji in lead. Trailer gave me such kind of excitement because of several reasons. One is it's being directed by Umesh Shukla whose OMG impressed me very much. Another prime reason is lead casting of the film. After long time two legendaries #AmitabhBachchan & #RishiKapoor shared screen together. It was amazing treat for me to watch them together. I'm biggest fan of them. Loved many of their performances in old as well as nowadays films. I was born in 90s so i can't say I'm grown up of watching their films because it was time of Khans but whenever i watched them on TV i loved them. Both of them were fantastic in their films. But i personally loved them in their second innings more than first one. That time was different therefore there were only mass appealing films in their career but in the second innings they changed themselves totally to the class. More i like performances of Bachchan Sir in #CheeniKum #Baghban #Pink #Wazir than his old films undoubtedly loved many of his classic superhits. same about #RishiKapoor more i loved his performances in #DoDooniChaar #Agneepath #KapoorAndSons #DDay as well as in previous film of Umesh Shukla #AllIsWell
Both of them are extremely talented actors and it's my fortunate to see them together in one decent sweet entertaining film #102NotOut
It has lack of technicalities but who cares when we have strong reason to focus. Once again a simple story very well written and executed by the director. Who says films can't get appreciation without glamour or hit music or masala. This kind of film proves that content matters and whatever done honestly by heart results into success. It might earn well at box office because of vacation and of course fans of these superstars will definitely enjoy and word of mouth will attract the audience as it's family drama. I must suggest do watch it with your parents. It has some superb comedy, emotional part is also there but it doesn't fall to that typical heavy melodramatic category. It quickly gets back to the track and kudos to writing work.
Overall i liked the film but loved the performances of lead actors. Hatz off.
