Review of Panipat . . .

Review of Panipat . . .

Nowadays length of the film matters more in favor of audiences who will always prefer to watch 2 hours long film rather than 3 hours. Film is known as 3 hours long picturization but from past some years hardly any film comes which is having 3 hours long length because audiences have no time to get bored for 3 hours if they're getting the entertainment into 2 hours. Still inspite of keeping this beside some film makers we have who always make long running timing films such as Sooraj Barjatya, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ashutosh Gowariker and some more.
Their stories either must be having a long scale portraying on large canvases or it must be some research based historical drama which can't be told in just 2 hours so they have to make it at least more than two and half hours long to tell the story appropriately.
Ashutosh Gowariker is a director who makes lengthy films all the time whether it was Lagaan, Jodha Akbar, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se or Swades all of his films is having more than 2 and half hour run time but plus point is here for his films length doesn't matter for audiences because of engaging screenplay. Ashutosh Gowariker is fantastic in characterization whether it was Mohan or Bhuvan his character building and deep detailed characterization keeps the audiences on the seat for 3 hours. People don't get bored because of it's large canvas presentation.
Ashutosh made Jodha Akbar but it was historical film not a pure war drama even i remembered it as a romantic tale of Jodha & Akbar undoubtedly Hrithik nailed it as Akbar that I can't even imagine anyone else later in lead warrior after i watched Hrithik as Akbar. I watched it later not at the time of release and i regretted for not watching Jodha-Akbar in theatre. It was a truly masterpiece.
Panipat is a story of third battle took place at Panipat between the Marathas and Afghanistan's Kandahar's brutal king Ahmad Shah Abdali (Sanjay Dutt) who enters in Hindostan and wants to achieve Delhi. At that time Peshwa Nanasaheb (Peshwa Nanasaheb) comes to know about it and decides to stop Abdali from doing this. He sends Sadashiv Rao Bhau (Arjun Kapoor) to stop him and story goes on like a biopic of Sadashiv Rao Bhau aka Raya. When trailer released not only me but many of film lovers weren't ready to accept Arjun Kapoor is playing Maratha warrior and in the lead role of Panipat. Trailer was good everyone appreciated Baba's negative role but unfortunately people weren't happy with the lead actor. I was also feeling the same that i have seen Hrithik & Ranveer in this type of roles but will Arjun Kapoor justify the character?
Due to busy schedule i couldn't go for first day but later on Saturday i went into night show i came to know on Saturday that it got opening of only around 4CR which is very less for such a big budgeted film Ashutosh made. Even in night show second day occupancy was hardly 30-40%. Reviews were mixed so only word of mouth could help for collection because fact is Arjun is not a crowd puller while Baba's fans will definitely go but that won't create something big.
Film starts with the narration by leading female actor Kriti Sanon who's playing role of Parvatibai and i think it's the best idea of narration from her point of view. Credits to Ashutosh for not making a female character only supporting as being a good wife but here Parvatibai is having a solid crucial role from starting to end.
Film's length is i think 2 hours and 50 minutes but in this so called war film the only one battle takes place in last 20-25 minutes in Panipat. In the entry scene there is a one small fight sequence but can't consider as a pure fighting scene.
Many stories are untold in the history of India and some brave film makers like Ashutosh takes it into the hand and presenting it to the audiences. Story of the battle of Panipat is patriotic and make us informed about the Marathas bravery & honor of Sadashiv Rao Bhau.
Story telling is in extraordinary way like as always in his films. Direction is also very engaging many scenes make sense. Some detailed informative scenes are there which proves Ashutosh Gowariker is a master of story telling. Writing work is quite simple but somehow suits to the script. Several dialogues on Delhi is resemblance to the current Indian political situations but i personally felt that neither protagonist nor antagonist are having dialogues massy or catchy which is needed for making audiences impress.
Cinematography is magnificent kudos to C.K. Murlidharan for brilliantly capturing battle ground scenes, fort scenes, river scenes etc. Actually there is a lot to write always on DOP of films of Ashutosh or SLB.
Background Score by Ajay-Atul is very nice but quite hype in Abdali's scenes which I didn't like much but overall it's nice. Specially Mard Maratha song composition is very very very nice and fitted at the right place and also creates impact in end. Costume job is quite good most of the time Nanasaheb and Sadashiv Rao Bhau wearing white shows positive side.
Performances plays pivotal role in making this type of films worth watch. Arjun Kapoor a lead actor who's as protagonist unfortunately in my personal opinion not a great choice for this role. He undoubtedly gave his best but in this role he is not suitable hatz off to him for efforts he has given but sometimes we can't connect with the character.
Kriti Sanon as Parvatibai OMG this is her best performance till date. In most of her films she's playing an ordinary role or small role in multi starrer films or just rom com types roles she played in her career but this one is her finest and honest role till date. Finally she emerged as a good actress who's not there to add glamour only but also plays pivotal role in the film. She's so good in her part and not only lends support to Sadashiv Rao Bhau but also fights in one scene which is mind blowing. Her emotional scenes make her good performer. Loved the way she is narrating the story. Hatz off.
There is also one character Samsher Bahadur who is son Bajirao-Mastani and who's living Muslim way of life. Here point to be noted is Sadashiv Rao Bhau doesn't discriminate Hindus or Muslim as he believed that Chhtrapati Shivaji also had Muslim supporters in his team.
One more good Muslim character here is Ibrahim Khan Gardi played by Nawab Shah which is terrifying. He has done superb job & suits in his role.
Padmini Kolhapure, Zeenam Aman & Mohnish Bahl lends very good support. They are appropriate in their roles. Specially Mohnish Bahl nailed it.
Lastly Ahmad Shah Abdali played by Sanjay Dutt looks terrific in Afghani but unfortunately like protagonist i also not impressed much with antagonist. What Allaudin Khilji did sadly Abdali not that much impressive. I love to see Baba in negative role can't forget Agneepath but here he looks devilish, his scenes are terrifying but his dialogues & accents are not matching with the character. Like i said earlier neither protagonist not antagonist having deadly dialogues & Abdali is from Afghanistan but not having a proper Urdu accent. I'm shocked why Ashutosh let it happen. Role of Abdali could have been a way better if it was more realistic.
Overall Ashutosh did good job but it could have been great. Lastly it was one time watch for me not a masterpiece like Jodha-Akbar or any historical film to be remembered for a long time.
For sweat of Ashutosh and his team for it's large scale presentation
3.2/5.

Review of Commando 3 . . .

Review of Commando 3 . . .

On very first day watched the third installment in Commando series of last Action Hero of Bollywood Vidyut Jammwal. Commando : One Man Army was Kickass action masala totally loved it. Loved Vidyut in Force as Villian but 1st Commando blown my mind and made me big fan of his extraordinary actions. It was personal story of Army Man Karan Singh Dongra which had mixup of romance and actions. Big fan of 1st part of this series. Later Commando 2 arrived director was Deven Bhojani unfortunately  it wasn't a good film undoubtedly Vidyut's stunts were real deal but i personally didn't like the film as i was expecting something more than 1st one and disappointed with it. This year Vipul Amrutlal Shah brought back the Army Man and continue the series with it's third installment. Topic is similar to 2nd part where there is any issue India is facing and this Army Man is being assigned to accomplish the mission and protect the nation. In Commando 3 story is set in London where one Muslim person planning to attack on India at various places and Vidyut is sent there to catch him.
I was so impressed by the trailer because there were mainly two prime reasons one is Vidyut's Actions as I'm big fan of this type of action films specially feeling proud when Bollywood film makers make this type of mind blowing action film & second reason was the Villian. Yes the Negative role here is played by one of the finest actor we have today Gulshan Devaiah. He was OUTSTANDING in Hunterrr, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota etc kinda films and this time again he came up with Kickass, Badass role and performed it so well.
As i was expecting that critics aren't going to praise it as it has nothing new to offer and this type of stories already we have seen earlier in films. It may not get much sound Box-Office figures as it doesn't have star power because nowadays any usual film with a famous face makes such fine collection at Box-Office but this is for particular targeted audiences who prefer action films like Jackie Chan used to deliver in his time. Youths are definitely gonna watch it may not in theatre but later when it will be released on web but what matters for a films to get the label of hit or super hit is Box-Office collection. So many films are already in the profit before it's release due to rights sold but what matters is Box-Office collection. I'm writing today and i think as per reports it has done business of around 10CR in first two days which is good for Vidyut but not a great business. They have invested money as well as sweat for Actions so they deserve more.
Here as i said what makes film worth watch is Vidyut's Actions and Gulshan's Acting. Story is usual but engaging. It doesn't have much boring scenes length is plus point if they had made it of 2.5 or 3 hours long then it would have been boring.
Direction handled by Aditya Datt and it's good job. He made each scene engaging and thrilling.
Cinematography is very nice. Casting is also good Adah Sharma once again joins Vidyut for the mission and her Hyderabadi accent makes fun. She looks hot and does her part so well and makes scene entertaining. Second actress is Angira Dhar she's also very nice and acts so well. She's stunning as cop officer. Her noticable work was in Love Per Square Foot with Vicky Kaushal other casting is fine.
Gulshan Devaiah OMG what a performer he is. Kudos to him for his mind blowing performance. His role is well written too. He is so brutal and gives damn thrill to the audience. From his anger to dialogues from his spectacles to acting everything Kickass. I loved it completely. So much respect for your dedication. So natural.
Lastly what takes this series to the next level is real deal actions of my most fav Action Hero of recent times none other than Vidyut Jammwal. It's his time for sure no one else can beat him in doing stunts by himself. From his entry scene to climax all the fights he nailed it completely. He is our Indian Jackie Chan. Hatz off to him for his dedication and i must say he should do it more and more because it's his age where he can give back to back action masalas.
Overall it was a decent entertaining one what i was expecting and as i am big fan of Vidyut's Actions i liked it. It is not like the first one but definitely better than second part.
My Ratings
3.5/5.

Review of War . . .

Review of War . . .

Initially Siddharth Anand used to make soft rom com films or emotional drama we can say like Salaam Namaste, Tara Rum Pum, Bachna Aye Haseeno etc later in 2014 he came up with a high octane Action flick which was the official remake of Hollywood film Knight and Day. His tie up with Hrithik Roshan worked. Bang Bang got mixed reviews from the critics but action masala lovers praised the film and it became successful at Box-Office.
Once again the Director brings the another BIG action film with deadly superhero of Bollywood none other than Hrithik Roshan. This time it's not a remake but originally written by producer Aditya Chopra and Siddharth Anand along with Sridhar Raghavan wrote Screenplay and Abbas Tyerwala wrote the dialogues. Released exactly after 5 years of Bang Bang on Gandhi Jayanthi Holiday of 2nd October 2019.
Now point is what to expect from the director who made earlier action film with same protagonist, what to expect from the production house which made Dhoom series, Tiger series etc action masalas.
War released along with 2 more films one is Sye Raa by MEGASTAR CHIRANJEEVI in a lead role, another is Hollywood film's very appreciated and loved character Joker. Standing out at Box-Office along with these films is tough task but in India ratio of Mass audiences is much higher than class and main target of War is mass only. War is for those who like action, thriller, stylish, Hero oriented with full masala entertainment for 3 hours. Those who find logics in this kind of film will be disappointed, those who expect some unusual piece of cinema will not be satisfied with it. It's only for mass entertainer who just want to watch and get thrilled in action sequences, hand to hand hard hitting fight scenes, car chasing, bike stunts, with some unexpected twists and turns, a film in which two superheroes grooving on the dance floor and plus as seen in the trailer this time both the heroes are against each other. Hrithik VS Tiger.
Not gonna write much about the story but there are some more important points to be discussed. Screenplay is engaging and thank God it didn't bore me like Saaho's weak screenplay. All people were so excited for Saaho but then came the trailer of War and most of the audiences including me was waiting for it. Saaho turned out so bad not only critics but public also didn't like the film. Even the protagonist couldn't save the film like many times happened in Bollywood that if film fails to impress the audiences then the Hero is the one who takes the whole film on his shoulder and makes it worth watch for fans for example Dhoom 3, Chennai Express etc.
War has all the ingredients what a commercial film requires. Mainly it is an action film so it has so many MIND BLOWING action sequences, it's War film between Hero-Villain with so many twists and turns from starting to climax each new turn will give you wow feeling if you're die hard fan of hardcore suspense thriller. Definitely predictable but still people can enjoy the twists as film is so engaging. I personally liked many parts of the film but what i was expected before going to the theatre is only Actions Actions and Actions. I'm big fan of Hrithik Roshan since years. I'm so happy to see him in role of Kabir in this film like what i saw in 2006 Dhoom 2. I loved the style and stunts of Hrithik in Dhoom 2 and Krrish. Once again he made me fall in loved with his actions. No matter what critics will say but it's a sure shot entertaining film for me. yes agree that it's not the best film or best role ever played by Hrithik but yet it's not a bad like nowadays all those people spread messages who even haven't seen the film. It's enjoyable with Friends and Family. I loved many actions scenes except the one in Military Plane it wasn't well directed according to me while rest are MIND BLOWING, FANTASTIC, OUTSTANDING what Bollywood really needed since long time. It's fact that Indian audiences won't like these kind fo action films if Bollywood is making but if Hollywood is making the same then they'll love it. Like Fast and Furious series Indian people loved even i loved but i can't deny fact that Bollywood is also making some nice action entertainers not all but some are definitely great ones.
Music is ok but no so good like Dhoom 2. BGM is ok but not up to the mark. What made my eyes satisfied was Excellent cinematography by Benjamin Jasper. It was great watch of various landscapes of different places or countries. Awesome DOP work.
Performance by Vaani Kapoor is good as she has only small role, Anupria Goenka is damn good as always loved her in many roles, Ashutosh Rana is good but not a great from him.
Here challenging role was for Tiger Shroff. Tiger is still considered as new comer. Matching and standing out with a person who is in the film industry since two decades, who's much better actor than him, who has so much higher fan following than him is really very tough for Tiger. And specially when he's his Guru in the film and also in the real life. Yes Tiger learned so much from Hrithik Roshan. In fight sequence hitting on his chest or face must be difficult for Tiger as he admired him a lot but being in the job of acting he has to do. I loved stunts, fights and dance of Tiger Shroff since Heropanti but don't like his acting. He's below average actor for me but became big fan of his actions like Vidyut Jamwal.
This time Tiger's performance is quite better than his previous films and quite innocent role too. His entry fight is extremely good and he proves that he's so fit for the fights. But performance wise people will compare them so from my point of view he is nowhere close to Hirthik. (Guru Guru Hota Hai Chela Chela Hota Hai). He's assigned to eliminate Kabir (Hrithik) who was also Indian soldier once. Chasing sequence is the best scene of the film and i was so happy to see them together. Good luck to Tiger for better future. It's his best performance till date.
Now the mainly performance of Hrithik Roshan. It's an out and out Hrithik Roshan's film. The only superhero of Bollywood is back with bang. It gives me goosbumps when he's performing a high octane actions. Loved him since beginning of his career. Loved his action films as well as those in which he gave spectacular performance such as Jodha Akbar, Kaabil or recently released Super 30. I'm big fan of his charismatic swag. He's in full form here too. He's very successful and i count in the category post Khans, Kumar and Devgn. Undoubtedly finest actor cum star. It's rare combination of so much talent and look together. He's the perfect example of Handsome Hunk. As a Kabir he shines throughout the film. From his entry scene with Helicopter to stunts to bike chase to dialogues with Tiger etc fantastic and gave me joy. No matter what other actor casted besides him but from the core of my heart voice comes out that Hrithik Is Hrithik. No one can beat him in dance or actions or acting.
On the whole it was entertaining as i am a massy film lover i enjoyed it specially for BREATHTAKINGLY AWESOME Hrithik Roshan. Congratulations to Yash Raj Films for a sure shot hit.

Review of Section 375 . . .

Review of Section 375 . . .

It's second directorial venture of Ajay Bahl who first made B.A.Pass which was brilliant piece of cinema at least i believe. It was loved by many filmy buffs but not sure whether successful at Box-Office or not. He's back with his second film which also has unusual story like first one.
Section 375 is based on very relevant issue of current situations in India or world.
Touching a women without her consent is a crime and doesn't matter if it's your own wife. She has to give her consent for sexual activities no man can touch her without it. This was highlighted so well in film Pink. Here it's not about this topic but Rape case is something like this.
1 junior assistant of costume designer (Meera Chopra) files a case against a film director (Rahul Bhatt) who forced her for sexual activity in his home.
Court sentence him 10 Years prison and then 1 lawyer Tarun (Akshaye Khanna) believes that he didn't rape her and this case against him seems a false allegations and takes his case. While his own old intern is against him who's fighting case for the victim and then really very hard hitting court room drama film begins.
It throws light on recently MeToo movement happened in India specially in the film industry where females are abused and unfortunately due to lack of support or fear of society they keep it hidden but some brave woman came ahead and talked publicly about whatever happened with them during working hours.
Still the main plot of the film is not that I'm going to be more clear as it's not typical film where rape case is being discussed in the court and at the end accused gets the sentence to death or anything like that. It's not a film totally on MeToo movement however it's a film about Justice VS Law. Yes when the film begins Akshaye Khanna tells there's a difference between the Justice and Law.
Some films raise questions after it's release and this one also raised question that why MeToo there should be MenToo, another thing is why film is showing girls are allegate wrongly guys if the relationship doesn't work out.
I think there can be so long debate or arguments on the topic of sexual consent but here more I'm going to tell about the film not the topic much.
It's a court room drama film but thank God to writers for writing such an engaging script so we can not have to bear that typical "Milord" kinda stuffs in the court or"Mai Geetha par hath rakh ke kasam khata hu" types.
From the very beginning of court scenes both the lawyers speaks some brilliantly written dialogues which is a great start to take it ahead and deep in the topic. Very skillful and tight screenplay.
Direction is top notch specially all the courtroom scenes are well balanced and didn't bore me for a single minute. Ajay Bahl sir hits the right chord once again after B.A.Pass.
Besides writing and direction what court drama needs is performances by the actors. Richa Chadda as victim's lawyer simply solid. Very nice presentation by her. She impressed with her several good dialogues. Kruttika Desai as one of the judges is also superb, Anup Chaudhary is also fantastic as Judge.
Meera Chopra does her job so well. She's damn good actor and played her role of victim Anjali very well.
Rahul Bhatt is amazing as always. He played role of accused film director Rohan Khurrana. Such a fantastic actor.
But lastly whosl eats all these actors with his OUTSTANDING performance is yes none other than one of the finest and unfortunately underrated actor of Bollywood Akshaye Khanna. OMG what an acting. Just superb role play of criminal lawyer Tarun Saluja. I loved his performances in many fo his films and surprisingly he makes me wonder with each of his unusual performance in recent times. Unfortunately he wasn't used properly else he would have definitely some awards with him in his home.
I think an appropriate choice for this role. Hatz off.
Those who have not watched the film and after reading going to watch it please don't miss the climax the very end of film. Because from starting almost end you will have some thoughts but in the climax that may change so powerful climax.
Lastly i would say it may leave you with some questions or you'll be confused which side you're but see it as Justice vs Law not like Man VS Woman film.
For this hard hitting powerful drama and specially for brilliant performance by Akshaye Khanna

Review of Dream Girl . . .

Review of Dream Girl . . .

Dialogue writer Raaj Shaandilya's debut as a director Dream Girl arrived on this Friday. I was officially busy on first day till night so caught it on Saturday night in theatre. I read reviews which were mostly positive. What i expect from Ayushmann Khurrana's film is different yet engaging story & his stellar performance to make it worth watch for me.
I loved his performances many times. His dedication towards the role and selection of the scripts all the times makes me more excited to wait and look forward for his upcoming films.
Dream Girl in which he plays role of Karam who's working at various dramas where het gets role of any lady character because he has talent to talk in the voice of girl. He's not getting a decent job which can help him to pay off the loans taken by his father (Annu Kapoor). He finally meets a person (Rajesh Sharma) who's running a call center and offers him a job in which he has to call people and talk to them as Pooja. Later story continues with this job and he meets Maahi (Nushrat Bharucha) and what ups and downs happens in his life is shown in the film.
Story is fresh while screenplay is predictable but dialogues written so brilliantly which makes the film out and out entertainer and one of the nice comedy film of this year or recent times. Obviously because director is already an experienced dialogue writer and in his film too he wrote such a witty humourous yet sometimes hard hitting dialogues. Hatz off to Raaj Shaandilya Sir for this.
Several dialogues are so so so funny such as Ayushmann offers a seat to lady in a bus when he returns from an interview without getting a job "Aap Yahan Baith Jaiye Mai To Waise Bhi Ghar Pe Baitha Hi Rehta Hun"
Rajesh Sharma tells him to read the agreement before signing Ayushmann tells "15-17 saal padhai hi ki hai kuchh nahin mila".
Vijay Raaz' best dialogue besides his all the poetries in the film "Policewale agar kisi ko kuchh dene lage to fir kahe ke Policewale" this was so funny at the same time hard hitting.
What a writing. Loved it.
Performances by supporting cast is outstanding. Vijay Raaz superb as Police Constable who's drunk and poet most of the time. Nidhi Bisht is also playing deadly role whose heart is broken three times by various boys and he has no more faith in boys now. Abhishek Banerjee who's playing Brahmchari brother of Nushrat Bharucha is also funny and enjoyable.
Manjot Singh as friend of Ayushmann is also superb and has got some very good lines. He has done good job. Rajesh Sharma is also good in his role.
Nushrat Bharucha looks stunning and beautiful. He plays her part so well but doesn't have much to do besides lending support to Ayushmann.
Annu Kapoor is one of my fav performers who never disappoints with their performance. Whether that's Jolly LLB2 or this or any of his film i remember he has done superb dialogues delivery and out and out watchable character. Here he's playing role of father of Ayushmann who's lost his wife earlier and stayed whole life alone with his son.
Annu Kapoor has so much potential and he's a true theatre artist who can act brilliantly all the time. Here he doesn't have much important or detailed role but still when his scene comes he steals the show. He's mind blowing.
Lastly the one who's the main positive point of the film is Ayushmann Khurrana. He's the one who accepted many challenging roles in his short span of career. From Vicky Donor to Andhadhun to this loved him most of his films. Here the role of girl who's many times earlier portrayed by many brilliant actors in the history of Bollywood also for comedy many TV shows using the idea of transformation of a boy in the role of girl is great watch for an audiences.
Role of Karam/Pooja both extremely well played by him. For me it's not his best performance or best film but yet it's an entertaining and also gives message in the climax part. It's our good luck to see films of an actor like Ayushmann who's doing thrillers like Andhadhun and same time comedies like Badhaai Ho and this one. It's our fortune to have very talented actor like him in the industry. He's one of the best performers of coming age.
Many congratulations to him and best wishes for his super success ahead.
Music of the film is also ok i loved Radhe Radhe track.
Overall for me it was entertaining, engaging and specially for outstanding performance by Ayushmann Khurrana i will go with
3.5/5.

Review of Chhichhore . . .

Review of Chhichhore . . .

I really didn't like the trailer of this film because it seemed typical college story kinda film and specially older looks of the cast are not convincing for me. I found it below average and expected that it's going to be a soft comedy drama like many film makers delivering every year and rarely one or two of them have the right content. I loved work of Director Nitesh Tiwari in Dangal but trailer of Chhichhore didn't impress me much so i didn't go on first day of it's release generally i go on Friday for most of films. When i looked at the calendar of up coming Bollywood films then there are two more films Dream Girl & Prassthanam that I'm thinking to watch it in theatre. I was not curious for Chhichhore.
On first day i found reviews on social media and unexpectedly maximum of reviewers were giving thumps up to this film. Many people compared this with 3 Idiots or Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander kinda films. My friend also talked to me regarding this and finally i decided to watch on Sunday.
Nitesh Tiwari ji who directed a content driven blockbuster Aamir Khan starrer Dangal came up with another good entertaining and wonderful film Chhichhore. Story set in College Days includes Emotions, Sports, Comedy and mix up all these ingredients a predictable yet engaging film emerged.
Writing of the film is backbone. Excellent Performances by Sushant Singh Rajput, Taher Raj Bhasin, Varun Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor and other supporting cast. Still i stay unconvinced with their old age look but besides this there is a lot to enjoy it the film.
wonderful message " it's okay to be a Looser sometimes" it works so well.
Flashbacks with introduction of each character is very well directed, various Sports in college is also nice part of the film, Entry of Taher is brilliant, Friendship of them definitely reminded me of Hirani's 3 Idiots. There are some enjoyable scenes but double meaning dialogues to create a humor is what makes the film adult and i can't give a label of family film to this and yes definitely you can enjoy it with college friends or specially if you stayed in hostel it's time to relieve your old memories with it.
Shraddha Kapoor doesn't have much to do but looks nice and delivered her performance with and ease. I'm happy that she's improving her acting skills with Stree or Saaho or Chhichhore. I didn't like her in earlier films. Good luck to sweetie.
SSR is damn good in college time while in older look he didn't justify or i think i didn't like it. Not his great performance but good one.
Rest casting is so nice and all of them delivered superb performances.
It's light hearted emotional drama yet fun ride. Title could've been something else more suitable.

Review of Mission Mangal . . .

Review of Mission Mangal . . .

Jagan Shakti's directorial debut with creative help of concept oriented film maker R Balki released on Independence Day. Mission Mangal released on a day when our ISRO completed 50 years. Nation was celebrating Independence Day as well as Rakshabandhan Festival along with that there were something else to celebrate holiday with families, friends etc. On 15th August 2 big films arrived Mission Mangal & Batla House, 1 Hollywood film released in India Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and in addition to these 1 web series released by Netflix which is Sacred Games Season 2.
So for film lovers like me it was celebration. I went for Mission Mangal on very first day.  Being fan of Akki i have to watch his films on first day of it's release.
A true story based on Mars Orbited Mission a historical job by scientists of ISRO. It has patriotism, it is a tale of pride of nation and Bollywood film makers have Akshay Kumar as always first choice for portraying as a lead.
Akki did many films in his this inning such as Kesari, Airlift, Baby, Holiday, PadMan, Toilet-Ek Prem Katha etc which are based either on true stories or it has full dozed patriotism.
Akki playing a lead of Mission Director who's handling the Mission to reach Mars. Followed by Second lead is Vidya Balan who's the one which steals the show besides Akki. She has very pivotal role in the Mission and also in the film. Rest team which joins the Mission are played well by other Actors.
Sonakshi Sinha is very good in her role, Sharman Joshi didn't have much to do but still his role was enough to make people laugh in the theatre. Nithya Menen did very good job in her first Hindi film. Kirti Kulhari a Muslim girl finding a house in Bangalore to live also lends good support in the Mission, Lastly in the team my most fav Taapsee Pannu OMG she looks damn beautiful in her look and she also did fantastic job here. I loved Taapsee in her Saree look more. I think in straight hair she looks damn stunning. Loved her. Vikram Gokhale as a director of ISRO is superb.
It's story of victory of scientists of ISRO. Mission Mangal is entertaining, engaging, high concept, patriotic and definitely a good watch for families and specially ladies would love to watch it because it already has Mahila Mandal to accomplish a Mission. It's enjoyable with family except only one scene where (Taapsee is learning driving).
Inspite of having use of English writing work is something which makes film more massy entertaining.
It has some really good scenes which deserve applaud specially in climax when efforts of ISRO scientists to send satellite from Earth to Mars succeeds all the citizens feel proud for the triumph.
It has great references such as picture of Vikrambhai Sarabhai, some brilliant talks of former president of India and Scientist of ISRO Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Sir whom i admire and respect a lot well every Indian loves him for his unforgettable contribution to science and nation.
Screenplay is predictable but still an engaging due to portions of various actors in appropriate time. Akki and Vidya is having more space than Taapsee, Sharman, Kirti etc stayed unutilized.
Music is not an important for the film but Background Score is nice.
Debutant Director succeed to deliver an entertainment on this holiday.
It's good to see Akki is doing films on patriotism, social issues, true incidents which makes his career more successful. It's his time to earn as much as stardom in coming few years and proves himself a SUPERSTAR. He is having very good pipeline for 2019-2020 with different genres of films. Good luck to him for super success.
On the whole i liked it and would recommend ladies, families and fans to have a good time in holiday/weekend. I'm sure it's going to have a sound Box-Office collection.
